Daughter Mugabe studying at Hong Kong University

Yesterday our government admitted that the daughter of Robert Mugabe, king president of Zimbabwe, is currently studying at the Hong Kong University. The lovely 20 year old Bona Mugabe enrolled last autumn under a different name. Emily Lau, a senior Hong Kong legislator, on Sunday called for a review over the decision to admit Miss Mugabe, saying many people in the city found her father’s regime “obnoxious”.

Oh c’mon, should we really use such strong and offensive words? Zimbabweans are generally in good health, have plenty of toilet paper and elections run smoothly. Well ok.. road signs may be a bit unclear at times. But the Mugabe family is concerned about our economy as well and tries to help out as much as they can. We know Donald approves.

Hence, we agree wholeheartedly with Law Yuk Kai, director of Human Rights Monitor in Hong Kong: “A child who has not done anything wrong should not be asked to take the burden of the wrongs of their parents – and in accordance with international human rights, the interests of the child should be our first principle. If the money she is spending was siphoned off the ordinary people, there is a problem.”

Since the latter seems highly unlikely, we truly hope you enjoy your stay Bona. Or whatever your name is here.

It troubles my heart to note Mugabe is leaving the real life while some of us are exposed to xenophobia in South Africa because there are no job opportunities back home. Beside this is the man who killed 20 000 people in Mathabelend. I wish a documentry for all the mass graves that I know could be published and let the world see what this man is afraid of which is the reason why he is clinging into power. One of these mass grave I know contains my reatives.

It just goes to show that admission standards at HKU are not what it used to be.

    I'd have to strongly disagree.
Mugabe has been the downfall of an entire nation. He's slaughtered his own people and lived like a king while everyone else starves or dies of Cholera.
Mugabe should be punished and if that means denying his child the right to study in Hong Kong, then so be it.
Hong Kong shouldn't let anyone affiliated with Mugabe or his party anywhere near the border. They're a disgusting breed of people.
I mean, does his daughter have any idea about that who her father is? She's wearing his Zanu-PF hat in the pictures. Does she not know what that stands for? Certainly not 'Unity, Peace and Development' as the slogan goes. I'd go so far as saying it's the exact opposite of that. Yet she seems to wear it with pride.
And why is it difficult to believe that she's not here at the expense of the Zimbabwean people? Mugabe has milked that place dry. He's worth 2 billion USD? He deserves to have every cent taken away and put back into the Zimbabwe economy.
If the Zimbabwean people don't have the right to a good life, why should his daughter?
