Daughter Mugabe studying at Hong Kong University
Yesterday our government admitted that the daughter of Robert Mugabe, king president of Zimbabwe, is currently studying at the Hong Kong University. The lovely 20 year old Bona Mugabe enrolled last autumn under a different name. Emily Lau, a senior Hong Kong legislator, on Sunday called for a review over the decision to admit Miss Mugabe, saying many people in the city found her father’s regime “obnoxious”.
Oh c’mon, should we really use such strong and offensive words? Zimbabweans are generally in good health, have plenty of toilet paper and elections run smoothly. Well ok.. road signs may be a bit unclear at times. But the Mugabe family is concerned about our economy as well and tries to help out as much as they can. We know Donald approves.
Hence, we agree wholeheartedly with Law Yuk Kai, director of Human Rights Monitor in Hong Kong: “A child who has not done anything wrong should not be asked to take the burden of the wrongs of their parents – and in accordance with international human rights, the interests of the child should be our first principle. If the money she is spending was siphoned off the ordinary people, there is a problem.”
Since the latter seems highly unlikely, we truly hope you enjoy your stay Bona. Or whatever your name is here.
