The plague returns to China

With a nuclear war at our doorstep, a piggy cough pandemic and a struggling economy you’d think that we’ve had to endure enough shit for a while. Think again. A highly virulent lung disease otherwise known as the goddamn PLAGUE appears to have made a comeback in the ethnically Tibetan village of Ziketan, Qinhai province.

Three people have died so far of the pneumonic version of the disease and more than a dozen have been infected. Pneumonic plague is spread through the air and can be passed from person to person through coughing, according to the World Health Organization. While bubonic plague can be treated with antibiotics if diagnosed early, pneumonic plague is one of the deadliest infectious diseases: humans can die within 24 hours of infection.

The Dalai Lama was reported saying that it was “those Han-Chinese sons of bitches that have found a new way to kill off our *cough* pacifist indigenous population.” China retaliated by commenting that this ‘Tibetan’ plague must simply be a matter of bad karma. To be continued..
