Free beer at cool graffiti event tomorrow!
Hong Kong has an embarrassingly small graffiti scene, which is why we happily generate some extra publicity for this event that takes place tomorrow. One of the founding members of the Graffiti Research Lab (the guys behind this) has developed a new piece of software called Graffiti Anlaysis 2.0 and will be showing it at Input/Output gallery this Friday as part of October Contemporary. Anyone can try the system and capture his/her tag into a 3d digital environment using custom motion tracking software and all tags will be displayed in the gallery for the length of the exhibition.
The Dark Side is hoping for appearances of local bad boys Orsek, Facts and Oson. And if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of our own Johnny Mountain at this event, as he practiced the noble art of wall scribbling before becoming a millionaire through the distribution of the Philips CN6307 “Angel” Ladyshave into China’s tier 2 cities Chengdu, Dalian and Ningbo in the early nineties.
So go check it out. Some of the tags may be crap, but fuck it, there’s free beer.
Note: If you are organizing an event in Hongkers and want The Dark Side to promote it, drop us an email at tips@thedarkside.hk. Judging from the coolness of the gig, we either tell you to piss off, ask for money/beer or simply oblige. Try us out!
