Milfs in Discovery Bay unite
Girlpower! An anonymous reader recommended we check out the website of Women in Charge, a network organization for women in Discovery Bay. With no less than five different types of memberships these women mean business, although they claim to be a non-profit organization. Their vision? “To be the leading provider of services for women to achieve their goals through networking, professional development and personal well being.”
Bravo! The Dark Side of course applauds this initiative as it was about time the women of DB kept themselves busy united. So we figured let’s generate some extra publicity, as Women in Charge adds tremendous value via events, a bookshop and workshops. Regarding the latter, we noticed that recently social media expert Perri Gorman, a.k.a. Be the Butterfly, told the girls all about web 2.0. And they are indeed up to date, having a presence on Twitter and Facebook.
You see, Perri knows all about that kinda stuff, being a professional counselor for Tweetcamp (the training camp for Twitter wannabes) who joined the popular micro-blogging service only after Kim Kardashian, John Mayer, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mariah Carey and even Oprah. Oprah’s legendary first tweet on April 17th 2009 marked the day among geeks that Twitter became mainstream and is thus used to assess whether or not someone is a true innovator or a laggard. But of course we don’t judge. In fact, one particular Dark Side blogger actually has the hots for her.
Anyway… Back to Women in Charge. Their easy to navigate wordpress website (just 48 links on the right side to keep it feminine simple) provides all the necessary information to those gals who are looking to educate themselves on issues such as finance, marketing and networking. The team consisting of Paula, LeAnn, Illana, Gudrun, Cecile and Brad combines a variety of backgrounds, which allows for a rich pool of resources to tap into. What’s one guy doing among all these ladies you ask? Well, as banker hubby is unable to attend to his wife’s needs during the day to understand the stock market, Brad steps in. What a hero.
