Cooking with TDS: ‘Calling Fish’
When it comes to food, hypocrites people with Western standards are usually quick to judge the mainland Chinese as a bunch of sick bastards. This doesn’t just relate to the type of food (read: animal) or its body parts, but also to their treatment of animals when killing or eating them. Typical examples are of course the dog meat trade (warning: disturbing footage) or the eating of live monkey brains (warning: disturbing images). Apple Daily recently reported about a special technique some of our mainland amigos employ to prepare their fish. It involves wrapping a wet cloth around the head to keep it alive and deep frying the rest of the body. The result kinda reminds us of Big Mouth Billy Bass:
