If you’re stuck with a woman who suffers from spontaneous headaches as soon as the lights go off, a new drug called flibanserin may save you a lot of money in Wan Chai just solve one of your many problems in life. Originally designed to be an antidepressant, it has the capability to significantly improve sexual desire in females who suffer from a low libido. Which is rather fortunate, as it apparantly wasn’t very effective at lifting the moods of those who were depressed.

This accidental discovery closely resembles the Viagra story, as that drug was also originally supposed to deal with something else, namely heart problems. When it created a strong desire in all male test subjects to bone their female nurses, Pfizer quickly realized it struck gold and created one of the largest marketing hypes ever seen for a new drug. Now of course some female doctors are sceptical about the need for pills to boost female sex drive. Dr. Paula Hall for example comments:

“Female loss of libido is a big problem and it is not going away. It can cause problems within a relationship and affect self-esteem.”

Yada yada yada. We foresee a huge market for flibanserin, not just for serious cases of sexually deprived women but mainly as a new ’slip in your drink’ style of doing things on first dates involving mandatory conversations about (her) life, dinner and movies. As clinical trials have just ended, it’s probably gonna take some time before the drug hits the market. But when it does.. well, let’s just say some AFC’s can finally throw their bible out of the window and get busy for real.
