China is still a weird mystical country to a large part of the world population. Last week, we brought to your attention a rather cruel way of preparing a fish, namely by deep frying its body while wrapping a wet cloth around its head to keep it alive. The info was taken from the website of Apple Daily and we figured it would be a rather ‘lighthearted’ topic to start Monday the 16th of November with. What happened after was a nice example of the power of social media (paying attention Doug?) and something that made our cheap, third hand server emit smoke due to the extra traffic coming our way. First someone decided to link to our post on Reddit, then a link directly to Youtube was placed on Digg and from there the video went viral all over the place. The story was also picked up as “news” by Buzzfeed, The Huffington Post,  The Telegraph, Bild and Perez Hilton (?), even though this deep frying technique is actually as old as Milfo’s average girlfriend. Long live web 2.0! Having said that, we wish Sean Seah all the best in his new job.
