Today SCMP mentions that the two guys behind it, Noel Furrer and James Gannaban, experienced a fair amount of hostility so far and even received an email ‘expressing hatred of homosexuals in unprintable detail.’ Unprintable perhaps, but luckily for you we’re an online medium. Hold on tight:

Who is Martin Heyes you ask? Martin is a former police offer who came to Hong Kong over 30 years ago and is currently retired. He’s an avid hiker and also a rugby ref. After we were tipped off, we checked with Noel whether he received this email from the above email address. He confirmed, and also mentioned another email received today from that same email address in which a written apology is offered with the promise of a verbal one later.

Now of course it could have been anybody writing from this email address, so in order to make sure we don’t further ruin this man’s social life for no reason, our own Johnny Mountain called Martin up to verify the story. He confessed to having a few beers (no shit) before writing the 1st email and is currently desperately involved in damage control.
