Hong Kong 10th best place for expats

Lists are always fun. We’re no.1 in Asia in terms of Twitter usage, 69th in the world when it comes to pirated software and our town represents the 18th best place to live in, which is rather disappointing. Surely expats would rank Hong Kong a bit higher than that? According to our poll in the right sidebar, people seem to like it here for a variety of reasons.

In case you missed it, HSBC’s Expat Explorer Survey 2009 has recently revealed that Hong Kong is the 10th best place to be in according to those same expats. We’re beaten by Canada, Australia, Thailand, our gay little brother Singapore, Bahrain, South Africa, France, the U.S. and even Spain, probably due to its siestas. With Saudi Arabia coming in as 14th out of 26, we will just assume questions regarding nightlife, freedom of religion and freedom of sexual orientation were of low priority to the wise folks at HSBC. As the Kingdom indeed ranks last in terms of entertainment, the genius of Allen Zeman is once more confirmed. Whether he can visit or not.
