In light of Google’s decision to stop filtering its Chinese searches, knowing full-well they they will be summarily shut down, we at the TDS would like to offer some words of encouragement to all those about to lose their jobs, freedom and possibly lives in the name of a free and fair Internet:

Thank you Google, you heroes of the Internet. You shining white knights who stand for everything decent and true in this world. Your decision to stand up and be counted amongst those who shout “NO CHINA, THIS IS ENOUGH!” has left us in awe. The swift decisiveness of your actions are an example to us all…. The sacrifice you have made for us… we only pray we are worthy.
