Surprise surprise: MTR party cancelled
Some of you may have known about a new clubbing concept originally scheduled for launch on the 5th of February. The slightly geeky instigators of the project, Fiona Lee and Cedric Sam must have figured we could do better than cities like Copenhagen and Budapest and hence decided to throw Hong Kong’s very first MTR party. To generate attention for the gig, a Facebook group (now removed) was created through which people could sign up. Now unfortunately there were two complications: a) we actually do live in China and b) our cops are all web 2.0 nowadays too. Taking into account that our police isn’t even happy with another Fiona doing sexy things, it was no surprise the organizors chickened out:
We wish Fiona and Cedric the best of luck, although they may want to use more traditional means to generate publicity next time. As you know, the use of social media can backfire.
