By now we all know that eight Hong Kong tourists were murdered in Manila by an ex-cop named Rolando Mendoza yesterday, as the 11-hour siege of a bus ended in a bloodbath (photo gallery here). Tragic! And the public outrage is well deserved, as it appears several mistakes have been made leading up to the shooting of the hostages. So there you go Philippines, a black alert with love from Hong Kong. It appears we have somewhat of a successor to the infamous Bus Uncle: MTR Uncle. MTR Uncle however isn’t dealing with a patient local who is willing to discuss the situation at hand. Instead, this man chooses to confront a rather impatient gweilo who is 1.5 times his size. And as Obama can confirm, sometimes brute force is needed to crush Chinaman’s newfound self-confidence, although it’s of course only a matter of time before we all bow down to the Middle Kingdom. Granted, we can see the gweilo fiddling with MTR Uncle’s bag first, but nobody so far has been able to explain what happened prior to this heated argument. Perhaps you can enlighten us:

In the category “woa, awesome” we bring you the following today. It is reported that our kimchi munching friends south of the border on the Korean peninsula have officially deployed robots to destroy any threat coming in from the north. Consider this:
“Two robots with surveillance, tracking, firing and voice recognition systems were integrated into a single unit.”
“The robot uses heat and motion detectors to sense possible threats, and alerts command centres.”
“If the command centre operator cannot identify possible intruders through the robot’s audio or video communications system, the operator can order it to fire its gun or 40mm automatic grenade launcher.”
Ok, they may not look like the soldier in the above thumb yet, but us visionaries claim it’s only a matter of time before members of the future resistance will try to kill our scientists! Indeed, as robots from the future are amongst us already we can only conclude Judgment Day is near.
